St. Bernadette: On Pastoral Ministries
Message from Saint Bernadette To The Little Apostle on 02/23//25
ST. BERNADETTE:
Dear Followers of Jesus,
As you grow in holiness and faithfully follow God's will, you will discover that the narrow path—though demanding—is designed not only to fortify your character in holiness but also to prepare you to embrace a life of sanctity with a fuller, more joyful purpose. With our constant presence—the saints accompanying you—God’s children shall prosper.
My life was once strictly disciplined, yet so blessed, as I came to understand the true purpose of my existence and recognized that nothing done apart from God’s divine will mattered more than pleasing Him. There was not a single moment when I did not thank God for His goodness upon me—for the profound knowledge of the Holy Church, for following my vocation, and for having assisted the Mother of God in her enduring mission, with her Immaculate Heart guiding her children and unveiling the mysteries of her Son’s Holy Church.
Though it may seem challenging for some—particularly among the young—to fully grasp the weight of the sacred calling to sanctity, remember that those entrusted with responsibilities in the Church’s pastoral ministries and apostolates have been divinely chosen at this appointed hour to honor God with their talents and time, but, most importantly, to adore Christ in one another’s hearts.
Dear ones, although some friends may lack charity toward you, as you serve Jesus together—whether in pastoral ministry, apostolic endeavors, or other acts of service within His Church—you are the ones Jesus trusted with His love. As His vessels of mercy in the world, take care not to tarnish His image by acting without holiness. Instead, rejoice in your journey, allowing Him to sanctify you and bring glory to the labor of love His Spirit tenderly nurtures within you. Every action must flow from the genuine love, servitude, great humility and self-sacrifice that Christ taught.
May all your deeds conform to His holy will and further the redemptive mission of His Kingdom.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be always with you!
