SAINT THÉRÈSE OF LISIEUX:

PART II: DIVINE LOVE AND THE LITTLENESS OF THE SOUL

In great humility, the soul flourishes, and Divine Love renews it continually from within.

Beloved of Christ,

Today, I return to continue sharing with you the thoughts and wisdom of Our Lord concerning the beauty of the childlike heart , its discernment gift and the gentle workings of the Holy Spirit within the soul that surrenders itself completely to God.

Ah, dear souls, in this holy child-like surrender, the Holy Spirit works fruitfully and gently within the soul, forming it according to the holy will of God and setting it apart for His divine purpose.

In this humility, the soul flourishes, and Divine Love renews it continually from within, elevating it beyond earthly attachments and drawing it ever closer to the Heart of God, whom it begins to understand with the simplicity of a child. In this intimate and joyful communion, the gift of understanding is heightened for the glory of God, and the soul offers praise to Him as His beloved child.

Indeed, all creation gives glory to God wherever the Spirit of the Almighty brings forth the life of grace in a soul!

Such a soul does not resist His grace, but permits His light to shine through it like a lamp illuminating from within outward. In this light, the soul recognises its own littleness and learns that, apart from God, it can do nothing; yet in the hands of its Creator it is sustained by His love and mercy.

Secondly, the soul grows in the knowledge of the sovereignty, greatness, and fatherly goodness of God, our Heavenly Father.

Oh how humanity forgets the knowledge of God, His divine nature, His power, and the humility of Him who came to save all mankind! The purity of Holy love can remain in many souls from childhood into later years, yet the world, the flesh, and the devil seek to obscure it through doubt, lack of trust, malice, pride, and sin.

Dear followers of Our Lord Jesus Christ,

As I bring this visitation to its close and share these final thoughts with you through this message, I encourage you today to always do good.

Remember always to keep a childlike heart and to preserve the ability to discern what is true and false, what is evil and what is good, and above all, to recognise the goodness of God.

Be little children. Be trusting. Be faithful.

In believing in God’s holy sovereignty in your littleness, you please Him through your love and faith!
